Nancy Attley - It is with deep sadness that we announce our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Mother-in-law, Sister and Auntie: Nancy Attley has gone on to live with our Lord. With her family at her bedside, Nancy passed on peacefully in the early morning of July 10, 2003 in the Gillam Hospital at the age of 86. Over the years, Granny Nancy enjoyed making her beautiful handicrafts: knitting, hand-sewing mukluks, slippers and gauntlets. Granny was always humming, and she loved listening to gospel music. She enjoyed sitting in her favorite chair watching the children playing and activity of the neighborhood. Granny Nancy always had a smile for her family and friends and would always be laughing at funny things that happened between herself and others. She was very grateful to have her granddaughter Leona to care for her in her last few years. Granny Nancy was predeceased by her husband: Smith; parents: Judah and Eda; brothers: Oswald, Joe and John; sister: Helen; sons: Ahab and James; daughters: Louise, Demer and Mary; grandsons: Kenneth and Smith; and son-in-law: Percy. Those left to honour Granny’s memory include her sister: Modena; children: Hilda (Larry), Lillian and Henry; son-in-law: Frank (Yvonne); and daughters-in-law: Irene (Jerry) and Helen (Larry). Her grandchildren: Stanley, Lawrence, Agnes (James), Ricky, Ronald, Donald, Roy, Walter (Marilyn), Raymond (Roberta), John (Doreen), Marjorie, Barbara (James), Nancy, Dennis (Hazel), Gordon (Jennifer), Charlie, Brian (Marion), Karen (Stephen), Leona, Dean, Kathy, Andrew (Lori), Bernadette (Richard), Pamela (Ronald), Blade, Cindy (Howard), Cathy, Conway (Doris), Martina, Arlene (Oliver), Louise, Waylon, Nancy (Jimmy), Arlene (Ernie), Marty (Evelyn), Lena, Randy (Tammy); 54 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren: Brandon, Nevada, Dawson and Jersey. Also, many other relatives and friends. The family would like to acknowledge and thank: Dr. Kelly, Cheryl Berendse, the Gillam Hospital nursing staff and Kathy for the care and compassion they gave to our Granny and family members. Wake services held on July 11, 2003 (131 Kettle), July 12, 13 & 14, 2003 in Gillam, at St. Andrews Anglican Church, beginning at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service held on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 2:00 pm at the Gillam Rec Centre, with viewing to begin at 12:00 noon, and with Rev. Eli Morris officiating.
