DAY, RALPH GRANVILLE -Passed away peacefully at home after a period of failing health on December 27,2003. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick on July 13,1924 son of the late Stewart and Mary (Miller) Day. Besides his parents he is predeceased by brothers Dr. Cecil Day and Everett Day. Survived by his wife Sarah (Anderson), daughter Janice Day Berg (Randy) of Corona Del Mar, California, Sister- in -law and brother-in-law Ruth and Robert Schwabe of Riverside, California, who have shown him great kindness during his illness, sister-in-law Sibyl Harding (Frank) of British Colombia, brother-in-law Stephen Anderson (Rita) of New Brunswick. Loving nieces Sally McNair (Robert) of Philadelphia and Debra Bryan (Richard) of England who always remembered him on Special occasions, Joan Milligan and Sandy Day of California. Mr. Day served in the Merchant Navy during World War II and after the war spent several years at sea as a radio operator. He moved to California in 1959 where he lived in Riverside and San Bernardino counties for 44 years. He was an avid reader having donated his collection of books to the Murrieta Library before he died. He worked as a technician in the computer dept. at California State University, San Bernardino for 15 years before retiring in 1989. After retiring he and his wife moved to Murrieta. At his request he will be buried at sea. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
