MACAULAY, A. Evelyn (nee Soy) Born July 31, 1904 in Charlottetown, P.E.I., passed away peacefully, February 9, 2004 in Ottawa, Ontario. Evelyn was brought up in Nova Scotia and educated at Mount Allison. She married Adrian A. Macaulay of Sydney. Evelyn and Adrian lived in Toronto, Quebec City and Montreal. They retired to Pictou, Nova Scotia, where Adrian tended his magnificent garden and Evelyn continued her musical interests by playing the organ in church and teaching piano. Predeceased by sons Richard and David. Survived by daughters Laura Macaulay (Ottawa) and Sharon Samaroo (Vancouver); grandchildren Craig Leth-Steensen (Guylaine) of Ottawa and Wendy Leth-Steensen of Dallas, Texas; Rebecca MacKay Eastwood (Michael) of London, UK; Richard Samaroo (Laura) and Norman Samaroo of Vancouver; Glen Macaulay and daughter-in-law Joan Macaulay of Florida. Evelyn had four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Max and Jaime. Private family burial. Memorial Mass will be held at the end of July in Ottawa with a reception to follow afterwards.
