Peacefully, after a brief illness in hospital, Tuesday, January 7, 2003, Joan Caroline Stephens age 78. Beloved wife of 56 years to Gerald E. Watson of Ottawa. Loving mother of Pamela (Frank Hellard) of North Gower, Michael (Mary Katherine) of Oakville, Stephen (Arlene Kelland) of Toronto, Wendy Maneval of Aylmer and Robert (Barbara) of Stirling. Daughter of the late Robert Greaves and Katie (Hinge) Stephens. Survived by brother Nigel Stephens of Omemee, Ontario and sister Daphne Stephens of Syracuse, New York. "Nannie" to her grandchildren Sean, Aaron, Richard, Dustin, Sarah, Erica, Brien and step-grandchildren Carie and Katherine. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by her cousin Sandy Joines of Ottawa. A family Service in Memory of Mrs. Watson was held Friday, January 10, 2003 in the Chapel of the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue. donations to the Interval House, 55 Eccles Street, Ottawa, K1R 6S3 appreciated.
