(McDonald) Passed peacefully in the loving arms of her family and in the presence of God on November 1, 2003 at Orchardview Living Centre. To be greeted by Walter (Lew) Ayres, sister Helen, brother Murray and James (Jim) McDonald, the love of her life and father of her children, Jim (Jane), Sandra (Howard Metcalfe), Susan, Fred, Don (Sue) and Joanne (Tom Miller). Will be sadly missed by her 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 on the way. Beloved by Sharon and Delores. Special friend to Shirley, Joan, Ken, Marg and Ted, just to name a few. All that knew Alice loved her warmth, her unselfishness, her sense of humour, her caring and her giving of herself. Our heartfelt thanks to the Staff at Orchardview Living Centre. The love you gave Alice will always be remembered and the love you gave her family will never be forgotten. God bless Dr. V. Young and especially - Dr. Ann Fillingham for walking with Mom each step of the way. Special thanks to Mom's angels of the Manotick United Church, the VONs and Homecare girls. You filled a void and became our extended family. We are indebted to you. Friends may pay respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road at Albion Road on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service in memory of Alice Ayres will be held at the Manotick United Church on Tuesday, November 4th at 11 a.m. Private interment at Capital Memorial Gardens.
