LAGIMODIERE Simone Therese Lagimodiere was born on June 4, 1912 in Luxville, Quebec, and passed away with her children at her side at St. Ann's Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2003. Simone was predeceased by her parents Firmin and Elizabeth Campeau; husband Alexis (1977); son Denis (1995); brothers Leon, Royal, Albert and Edouard; sisters Corinne and Lucille. Simone is survived by daughters Gisele (Raymond) Desjardins and their children Claude (Faye), Jocelyne (Rob Sutherland), Richard (Brenda), Marc (Wanda), Annette (Mark Stevens) and Alain; Carmen (Denis) Charlebois and their children Monique (Glen Bowman), Paulette (Ray Smith), Michele (Gerry Moroz), Guy (Ruth), Lorraine (Vern Williams), Diane (Laurent Duret) and their children Joanne (Graham Fast), Don (Terri), Marc and Mario; Rose (Bob Kinash) and their children Teresa (Charlie Sterling), and Jason (Marcia Little); and son Rene (Clemence Durette) and their children Marc and Daniel; daughter-in-law Dexter and her children Marie (Kelly Finigan) and John (Deidre Ness); two sisters Germaine (Henry Collins) and Ida (Bill Marcoux); thirty three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Simone and Alexis married in Ferland, SK in 1930. Alex worked for Searle Grain and the young couple moved many times before finally settling in Marcelin in 1943. Simone was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of the community and St. Joseph's Catholic Parish. In 1981 Simone moved to Saskatoon to be nearer to her family. She resided at St. Ann's Residence and volunteered at St. Ann's Nursing Home for many years. Simone moved to St. Ann's Nursing Home in 2002. Simone will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. A Vigil of Prayer will be held from St. Ann's Nursing Home, 2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Marcelin, SK on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Ann's Seniors Village, 2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nursing staff of St. Ann's Nursing Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home.
