DONALD SYLVIO OUELLET 1939-2003 The Daily Press Friday, May 30, 2003-07:00 Obituaries-The family announces with great sorrow his death at his residence on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the age of 63 years. Loving father of Gerald Ouellet and André Ouellet (wife Ruth) all of Timmins. Grandfather of Jasen (Natalie Roy) and Richard Ouellet of Timmins. He is expecting his first great grandchild in July of this year. Survived by his former wife Claudette Alderdice also of Timmins. Brother of Mariette Leblanc (late husband Manèse) of Timmins, Pierrette Ouellet of Tourville, P.Q., Anne-Marie Perrier (husband Réal) of Timmins, Lisette Ouellet of Montreal, Clémence Gaudreau (husband Fernand) of St-Adalbert, P. Q., Anne-Eva Ouellet of St. Pamphile, P.Q., Gérard Ouellet (wife Claudette) of Montreal and Antoinette Ouellet of Quebec. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Irene Gagnon (1998) and his father Edgar Ouellet (1976). Donald was born on August 30, 1939 in Tourville in L’Islet County of Quebec. He moved to Timmins in 1964 where he has since resided. He opened his pizzeria on November 22, 1966 which gave Don the nickname "King of Pizza". He owned and operated Don’s Pizzeria for 37 years until last July, when his son Andre took over for his father due to his illness. Don knew so many people and made friends easily. He was a great animal lover, anyone who knew him recognized his adoration for his pets as well as other animals that he encountered. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 25 years. He was also known as being a very devoted Montreal Canadiens hockey fan and will always be remembered for his loyalty towards his special team. Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 31, 2003 from St. Anthony’s Cathedral. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 30, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St., S., Timmins.
