PAIEMENT-At Sumac Lodge on Wednesday, June 11, 2003, ANTONIO NOE 'TONY PAIEMENT', age 87, of Sarnia. Beloved husband of Gertrude 'Gerty' (Marchand) for 61 years. Loving father of Marcel & wife Dorina, Paulette & husband John Paithouski and Dianne & husband Tom McCord. Proud grandfather of Christopher, Jennifer, Justin, Kendra, Shawn, Lisa and Derek. Cherished great grandfather of Taylor, Dakota and Nicholas. Predeceased by his five sisters & their husbands, three brothers & their wives and great grandchild Adam (2001). Tony was born June 19, 1915 in Montreal, Quebec. Raised in Northern Ontario, Tony, through his strong work ethic and sense of fair play, forged a good life for himself and his family. With little education he worked as a lumber jack, miner, farmer and hotelier leading eventually to real estate in Sarnia. Tony founded A.N. Paiement Real Estate in 1955 and for fifteen years had one of the best real estate offices in the city. At fifty-seven years of age Tony retired and for twenty-five years wintered in Florida and lived on Thomas Drive. Tony was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. and the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and neighbours. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 Thursday, at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date.
