Peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe Claire on June 26, 2003, at the age of seventy-three, after a lengthy illness met with courage and dignity. Son of the late George Vassiadis and the late Christina Percheau Vassiadis of Cairo, Egypt. Beloved husband of Angela Marineris Vassiadis. Adored father of Christina (Jim) Henry of Burlington, Ontario, Nicole (Jack) Stalgitis of Dollard des Ormeaux, and George Vassiadis of London, England. Devoted grandfather of Jamie Christina Henry of Burlington, Ontario. Survived by his dear sisters Nina (Leon) Tomas of London, England, and Violetta Feccos of Athens, Greece, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Catherine Vassiadis of Cairo, Anthony Vassiadis of Athens, Eugenie Cruicchi of Caracas, Venezuela, and Photi Grimalis of Montreal. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at the Chapel of the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Ch. de la Foret, Outremont, 279-6540, on Thursday, July 3 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Morgan Arboretum, c/o McGill University, would be appreciated.
