Isabella Cook Peacefully on Wednesday, March 22 at the Victoria General Hospital, Isabella Cook passed away at the age of 97 years. Isabella was born in Bloodvein, Manitoba was married on June 16, 1923 to Alfred James Cook and resided there her entire life, she was a Band Councilor for Bloodvein First Nation as well as taught baking classes and giving sewing lessons. Isabella loved to garden. She is survived by step brother Wilson Scott of Hollow Water. Sons Harry and Jim Cook; daughters Verna Williams, Merna Guiboche, Dorothy Goosehead and Stella (Jorg) Keller. Isabella had ten children, 68 grand children, 196 great grandchildren, 186 great great grandchildren and 23 great great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces , nephews, cousins, family and friends. Isabella was predeceased by her Husband A.J. Cook in 1992, daughters Violet, Melvina and Virginia, son Vernon Cook Sr., sisters Frances Green, Alice Everette, Beatrice Fisher, Carolin Monkman, Nora Bird, Carrie Everette and brothers Jacob and Peter Scott. Wake services will be held at Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue at Parr Street on Friday, March 24 from 7 – 12 Midnight, Saturday, March 25 from 6 pm until 11 am on Monday, March 27 when Funeral services will begin, Prayers will be said all three nights at 8 pm. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Beacham, Lloyd Williams, Bennard Goosehead, Harry Cook Jr., Robert Cook and Mark Guiboche. Special thanks to the doctor. and nursing staff at the Victoria General Hospital who gave such special care to Isabella. Thank you to all the family and friends who came to visit her in the hospital.
