KEKLIKIAN née Dédéyan, Selma C'est avec beaucoup de tristesse, que la famille de Mme Selma Dédéyan Keklikian, annonce son décès le 29 avril 2004, suite à une longue bataille contre le cancer. Selma est née le 5 décembre 1927 à Thessalonique, Grèce, fille de feu Khoren et Anoush Dédéyan. Selma était une mère et une grand-mère merveilleuse, une matrone pour la communauté arménienne et elle était aussi très dévouée à l'église St-Gregory L'Illuminateur. Durant sa carrière en tant que mezzo-soprano, Selma a participé à de nombreux rôles à l'opéra, dans des concerts, performances sur scène, à la télévision, la radio et dans les films. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses fils Arto (Clotilde) et Armen (Elaine), et ses petits-enfants, Artine, Adrian, Anselm, Ariell, Alexander et Nicholas. Les visites auront lieu le dimanche 2 mai 2004, de 19 à 21 h à la cathédrale StGregory L'Illuminateur, 615 Stuart, Outremont. Le service aura lieu à la cathédrale le lundi 3 mai 2004 à midi, suivi de l'inhumation au cimetière Mont-Royal. Un reçu d'impôt vous sera émis pour tout don fait au Fonds établi au nom de Selma Keklikian à l'église StGregory L'Illuminateur, pour commémorer la vie et la mémoire de Selma. Ce fonds sera utilisé pour créer une bourse annuelle ou d'études en Art et Culture pour les étudiants d'origine arménienne au Canada. The family of Selma Dedeyan Keklikian sadly announces her passing on April 29, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Selma was born on December 5, 1927 in Thessalonica, Greece to the late Khoren and Anoush Dedeyan. Selma was a very special mother, grandmother and matriarch of the Armenian community and devoted to St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church. Selma's singing career as mezzo-soprano included a number of operatic roles, concert appearances, stage performances, television, radio and feature film. Selma is survived by her sons Arto (Clotilde) and Armen (Elaine) and grandchildren Artine, Adrian, Anselm, Ariell, Alexander and Nicholas. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 2, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral, 615 Stuart, Outremont followed by funeral services on Monday, May 3, 2004, noon at the church and burial at Mount Royal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations may be made to the Church toward the Selma Keklikian Memorial Fund established to commemorate the life and memory of Selma.
