Dalziel, Norman HAMILTON Passed away with courage and peace in Barrie, Ontario, March 31st, 2003, in his 83rd year. Born in Port Huron, Michigan to William and Jean (MacLeod) Dalziel, raised in Montreal, Quebec and St. Thomas, Ontario. He served his country as a RCAF navigator in WWII, surviving 35 missions. Following the war he married Barbara Anne Jessop of Cromer, Norfolk, U.K., and returned to Canada to study engineering at Queen’s University (B. Sc. 1948¯). He will be missed by his wife Barbara, daughter Sandra Odegaard and husband Paul of London, Ontario, son Peter Dalziel and wife Christine of Barrie, Ontario, son Brian Dalziel of Stouffville Ontario, daughter-in-law Jane Dalziel of Aurora, eight thriving grandchildren [Kristen (Gordon), Conrad (Jennifer), Blythe, Todd, Skai, Nick, Colin, and Heather] and two great grandchildren (Haley, Isla, and another any day now). Also by Jean Dalziel (wife of deceased brother Scott Dalziel) and nieces Margaret, Barbara and Katherine. He will also be missed by many dear friends. He finished his career working with Rockwell International and retired to Medonte where he served as a Township Councillor from 1991 to 1994. He has been a faithful and active member of the Anglican Church, most recently in Craighurst, Ontario. A passionate member of the Barrie Canoe Club, cherishing paddling mates and special places such as Killarney Park. Also he enjoyed sailing with the Champlain Yacht Club and was active at Parkview Seniors Centre. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME (201 Minet’s Point Road at Yonge Street), Barrie on Friday from 7-9p.m. and on Saturday April 5th at St. John’s Anglican Church, Craighurst from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception and celebration of a life lived. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. John’s Anglican Church or the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie would be appreciated.
