APPLETON Paul Campbell 1930 - 2006 Paul was a New Year's baby born and raised in Calgary. He met his wife Dolores in Peace River, Alberta. He is also survived by two children, Tracey (Bruce Arai) of Waterloo, Ontario, their children, Jerrel, Maggie and Wesley; and David (Lisa) of Cremona, Alberta and their son Vance. Also surviving is his sister Betty (Gordon) Stark of Vernon, BC, and his sister-in-law Anne Appleton (Bruce Robinson) of Victoria, and many nieces and nephews and their children. He was predeceased in 1985 by his brother Robert of Nanaimo, BC. Retirement to Victoria in 1991 included much travelling (also twenty-two home exchanges). He was very active in the Unitarian Church and worked for social responsibility and justice, both in and outside the church. Paul just completed writing a book on the life of an early British Naval Officer, Dr. Moss, stationed in Esquimalt in the later half of the 1800's. A Memorial Service and Reception will be held at First Unitarian Church on West Saanich Road (opposite the Red Barn) on Monday, April 10 at 3:00 p.m. Many thanks to all at Hospice who gave him such compassionate care in his last days.
