Evelyn Murray, 83 Evelyn Murray died peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on April 18, 2006 in her 84th year. She was born on July 28, 1922 to the late James Fossitt and Bertha (Thompson) Fossitt. Evelyn was the beloved wife of Gus Murray, who predeceased her in 1977. They lived on the family farm in Hainsville and had six daughters. In 1963, they moved to Cardinal where Evelyn worked in several stores. She enjoyed serving the people and was a friend to all. Her main interests were her home and family. She is survived by her daughters: Anne (Gordon) Wittkie, Cardinal; Eleanor (Pat) McDonald, Cardinal; Jean (Ken Buker), Braeside; Connie (Brian Mallon), Ottawa; and Judy (Owen Campbell) and Mary Lou Murray of Cardinal. She is fondly remembered by grandchildren Jim and Trudy Wittkie, Iroquois, Robert and Kitty Wittkie, Carleton Place, Ward and Sonya Mallon, Ottawa, Matthew Mallon, London, Ont., as well as great grandchildren Danica Roode, Brockville and Josh and Alex Wittkie, Carleton Place. She is also survived by three sisters: Marion McVicar, Mississauga, Lola (Vernon) Speer, Mallorytown and Reta (Herbert) Liezert, Cardinal, sister-in-law Dorothy Kaddie of Brockville and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Earl and Graham Fossitt, both of Hainsville, and by a sister, Doris Froats of Iroquois. Mass of Christian burial was held at Sacred Heart Church, Cardinal, on April 21, 2006. Interment followed at St. Ann's Cemetery, Dixon's Corners. Donations were directed to Winchester District Memorial Hospital, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
