Barbara Levasseur HINSDALE, N.H. -- Barbara M. “Mema” Levasseur, 75, of 22 River Road in Hinsdale died Monday evening, April 26, 2004, at the home of her daughter at 183 River Road in Hinsdale surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 30, 1928, in Northfield, Mass., the daughter of Sidney and Marion (Gans) Given. She attended Northfield schools, graduating from Northfield High School, class of 1946. A 55-year resident of Hinsdale, she was formerly employed at the H. Margolin Co., The Book Press and Concel Paper Co., all in Brattleboro. She was also employed in the offices of Dr. George Idelkope in Hinsdale. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hinsdale. Mrs. Levasseur enjoyed flowers and gardening. On Oct. 30, 1948, she married Donald E. Levasseur. Mr. Levasseur died on Dec. 16, 1998. She is survived by two sons, Harvey Levasseur and John Levasseur, both of Hinsdale; two daughters, Kimberly Levasseur and Annie Pike, both of Hinsdale; a brother, Ricky Given of Alstead, N.H.; two sisters, Dorothy Clough of Florida and Frances Zatorski of Michigan; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Michelle Amaru, died Dec. 7, 1996. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 1, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Plain Road, Hinsdale. There are no calling hours.
