Leland O'Marra, 83 Fredrick Leland O'Marra, a resident of Prescott, died at West Park Health Centre, St. Catharines on Aug. 5, 2006 at the age of 83. He was born at Mainsville on Nov. 29, 1922 to parents Godfrey O'Marra and Kathleen Strader. He married Mary Bertha O'Marra (née Heafey) at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Prescott on Sept. 23, 1950. Mr. O'Marra served in the Second World War in France, Germany, England and Sweden. He worked as a garage station attendant and mechanic. He was a Royal Canadian Legion member and volunteer at Branch 97 in Prescott. He is survived by his sons David (Carol) of Pickering, Joseph (Darlene) of St. Catharines and Thomas of Prescott, grandchildren Alisha, Matthew and Sarah and sister-in-law Trudy Bernaski (Stan). He was predeceased by his wife "Bertie" and siblings Kathleen, Ethel, Geri, Irene, Mamie and Lawrence. Visitation took place at the Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott on Aug. 7. Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Mark's Catholic Church on Aug. 8. Father J. Appelman officiated. Mr. O'Marra was cremated. The committal service at St. Mark's Cemetery took place on Aug. 10. Donations are being directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
