DOWNEY, Mabel - In Ogdensburg, N.Y on Tuesday, December 5, 2006. Mabel (Lauber) Cayer Downey; formerly of Cornwall; age 63 years. Beloved wife of Robert S. Downey and by a previous marriage, the late John Cayer. Dear mother of Marcel Cayer of Ottawa, Claude Cayer of Brockville and Susanne Cayer (William Taylor) of Casselman and dear step-mother of Robert Downey Jr. (Erica) of Ogdensburg, N.Y and Heather Barrett (James) of Ohio. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 1 great-grandchild. Beloved daughter of the late George Lauber and the late Alice (Leroux) Lauber. Dear sister of René Lauber (Anita) of Cornwall. Predeceased by one brother, Peter Lauber and by two sisters, Doris Lauber Stangl and Edna Lauber Seguin. Cremation. The family will be in attendance at the Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) from 1 p.m Saturday. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 3 p.m. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
