O'LEARY, Nora Aileen ( nee Burns ) - At Parkwood Estates, Halifax, December 8, in her 94th year. Born in Halifax, beloved wife of the late Edmund C. O'Leary. P.Eng. Predeceased by her parents William & Cecilia ( nee Sutton ) Burns, and her six brothers and sisters. Survived by son LCol Paul F. O'Leary, daughters Aileen Carroll ( Kevin ) and Susan Farrell ( Rick ). Grandchildren Joanna Carroll, Daniel Carroll, Ian O'Leary, Sarah ( nee O'Leary) De Boer ( Caleb ), Andrea Boudreau. Special friend Penny Bell - Tovey. Nora was a life member of the Engineers' Wives Association of Halifax and long-time member of the Waegwoltic Club. She was, for a number of years, a member of the Saint Mary's University Library staff. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish since 1949. Nora was an avid bridge player, a voracious reader and highly regarded and loved for her warmth, wit, independent spirit and great courage. Funeral on Tuesday December 12th, St. Lawrence Church, Halifax. Internment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family extends gratitude to the exceptional caregivers at Parkland Estates.
