McNABB, Freda Irene (Red) 1919 - 2006 With great sadness, Ivan John McNabb announces that his cherished wife of fifty-six years, Freda Irene McNabb, died very peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, December 17, 2006 with Ivan by her side. Her career included more than forty years with D.P. McDonald, QC, as a highly competent legal secretary. Freda filled her life by lovingly adopting or finding homes for stray cats, by crocheting and by knitting baby clothes or blankets, which she so generously donated. Until her stroke ten years ago, her passions were curling at the Winter Club, weekly dancing with her light-footed Ivan, and golfing as a couple in the Whitefish and Spokane areas. In 1975, Freda and Ivan took their twenty-eight day trip of a lifetime visiting Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, and the Cook Islands. Freda was predeceased by her father and mother and her sister, Iris. A Celebration of Freda's Life will be held at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 2424 - 24 Avenue N.W. at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2006, with Rev. Silvano Vargas officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Freda's memory to the Calgary Humane Society (SPCA), 4455 - 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, T2C 2T7 (Telephone 723-6050).
