Erma CROWDER

Erma Armstrong, 75, of RR 3, Prescott, died March 4 at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville, with her family by her side. She was born September 14, 1931 in Mountain Township to Cecil Crowder and the former Maude Barkley. She attended numerous schools over the years, because her father's work required the family to move to many different areas. She married Fay Armstrong on February 21, 1953 at Iroquois United Church. They lived in Cardinal until 1972, when they moved to RR 3, Prescott. She was a member of St. John's United Church and Riverside Seniors. Mrs. Armstrong worked outside the home at various jobs, including the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital as a housekeeper until her retirement. Her main interests were her family, friends and co-workers, whom she welcomed into her home for good visits and enjoyable games of cards. She is survived by her husband Fay Armstrong; children Lou Ann and husband Graham Van Camp of Cardinal, Tom of RR 3, Prescott, Gay and husband Robert Rust of Cardinal and Martha and husband Shawn Disheau of Cardinal; grandchildren Ashley, Abby, Courtney, Lindsay, Sara, Justin and Spencer; and great-grandchildren Brianna and Makayla. Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Cardinal, on March 7 before the funeral, at which Melanie Cassidy-Wise officiated and daughter Gay Rust gave the eulogy. Burial will be at St. John's Riverside Cemetery, Cardinal, in the spring.
