Jessie Alkerton, 82 PRESCOTT -- Jessie Alkerton, 82, died March 1, 2007 at Kingston General Hospital. She was born in Augusta Township on November 10, 1924 to James A. Brooks and the former Laura Capes. She married Ralph Alkerton on October 7, 1967 at St. Paul's United Church, Prescott. Mrs. Alkerton worked in the office at Hathaway Shirts in Prescott. She also did a lot of volunteer work at St. Paul's United Church, Prescott. She is survived by her husband Ralph Alkerton of Prescott, brothers James Brooks and wife Molly of North Augusta and Ross Brooks and wife Jean of North Augusta, sister Mildred Hall and husband Douglas of Roebuck and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott, on March 6. The funeral was held March 7 at St. Paul's United Church, Prescott, with Rev. David Steele officiating. Burial will be at Garretton Cemetery in the spring.
