Lynne Orr, 63 Lynne Orr, 63, died peacefully February 5 at the Brockville General Hospital. She was born November 2, 1943, in Paris, Ont., the daughter of Byron and Ellagene (née Adams) Jackson. She spent her early years in Paris, and then moved to Hamilton where she later graduated from Hillpark High School and Hamilton Teacher's College. She was an elementary school teacher for two years in Hamilton. On August 19, 1967 she married Robert Orr at Christ Church, Gananoque, moved to Athens and then in 1969 to Brockville. She taught at Toniata Elementary School in Brockville until the birth of their son Chris in 1971. Two daughters followed, Keri in 1973, and Kelli in 1977. One of her greatest joys was her cottage on Lemon Island, in the St. Lawrence River near Gananoque. She spent many happy childhood years there swimming, waterskiing and boating. After her husband retired, she was able to be at the cottage from almost the time the ice left in the spring until it returned in the fall. Mrs. Orr had many hobbies. She was an avid gardener and kept both the home and cottage in bloom most of the year. She sewed, knitted and made numerous costumes for her children when they were young. She worked with stained glass and tole painting; finally Bunka stitching became her passion. She loved swimming, canoeing, skating and cross-country skiing. She volunteered at St. Lawrence Lodge and was an active member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, beginning as a Sunday school teacher with her children. Through all these activities and in other ways, she touched many lives and cherished her friends. She was also an animal lover and had a collection of dogs from her childhood and throughout her life. Maggie, her last dog, visited her in the hospital twice. She is survived by her husband Robert, son Chris and fiancée Simone Buckley of Ottawa, daughters Keri and husband Ryan Solomon of Waterloo, and Kelli and husband Tom Beaubiah of Kingston, and two grandchildren, Jessica Beaubiah and Miles Solomon. Also surviving is her brother Byron Jackson of Gananoque and his wife Linda, nephew Paul Jackson and niece Allison Jackson. The funeral was held at St. Peter's Church, Anglican Parish of the St. Lawrence, Brockville, on February 8, with Ven. Michael Read officiating.
