Audrey White, 77 Audrey White, 77, died of cancer February 6 in Hospice Palliative Care at Brockville General Hospital's Garden Street site. She was born in England to Walter and Mary Greenhalgh and was raised and educated in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, England. In the early 1950s she came to Canada for a lengthy stay and enjoyed it so much she knew she wanted to return. She married John White in England on March 29, 1952, and in 1955 they emigrated, came to Canada and lived in Prescott their first 11 years. The family moved to Brockville in 1966. Mrs. White worked for many years as district manager for Avon. Later she changed careers to become a teacher's aide in the library at Thousand Islands Secondary School. Her main interest was her family and friends. She spent many enjoyable hours with her bridge club friends and an aqua-fit group. Her last 10 winters she stayed in Vero Beach, Florida, and returned to Brockville for the summers. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed taking many cruises. She is survived by two daughters, Glennys Bourassa and husband Glenn of Brockville and Elaine Robbins and husband Robert "Bob" of Wellington, Florida; grandson Matthew Cousins and fiancée Karina Viglianti of Brockville; sister Irene Wilson and husband Peter of England and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John in 1997 and her sister Mary West in 1989. Friends called at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, Brockville, where on February 9 a celebration of her life was held, with Rev. Steve Shay officiating. Her daughter Glennys, grandson Matthew and friend Ruth Taylor gave eulogies. The pallbearers were Glenn Bourassa, Robert Robbins, Matthew Cousins and George Vandervoort. Cremation was followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery.
