Mrs. Mary Lucy Yoell passed away peacefully at Grandview Lodge four daysafter celebrating her 101 birthday. Born May 4, 1903 in Rimouski Quebec, she moved to Fort William as ayoung child. On December 31, 1927 she married Godfrey Yoell in PortArthur and together they moved to Windsor, Ontario in 1942. AfterGodfrey passed away, she returned to Fort William in 1966. She was along time member of Connught Chapter 9 Order of the Eastern Star.Mary is survived by daughters Christine (Donald) Durfy of Burlington,Ontario and Marie McIlwain of Thunder Bay, Ontario, grandchildrenBarbara (Barry) Frieday, Kevin (Julie) Durfy all of Burlington, Ontario,James (Mitchell) McIlwain of Thunder Bay, Ontario and Gregg (Karen)McIlwain of Marathon, Ontario, 10 great grandchildren, sister YvonneThompson of Lethbridge, Alberta and brother Albert Beaupre of Welland,Ontario as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband Godfrey in 1961, her parents, 7 brothers, one sister in infancy and son in law Elmer McIlwain. Cremation has taken place and an Eastern Star funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 12th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort William Baptist Church followed by a memorial service. Burial will take place at a later date in Windsor, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fort William Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Grandview Lodge Recreation Department would be greatly appreciated.
