HETTINGA, BARBARA ANN (SWART) - It is with sorrow yet celebration that Barb has passed on to her new life in eternity with her Maker, the Lord Jesus Christ on April 17, 2007. Barb, age 46, was the beloved wife of Jacob Hettinga of Sarnia and the dear mother of Melissa Jo (and friend Bill Atyeo-Knox) and Jessica Ann. Loving daughter of Truus (VanDenHeuvel) Swart and the late Jacob Swart (1996). Beloved sister of the late Gary Swart (1992), Larry and Metty Swart and son Jamie, John and Vine Swart and Margaret Swart. Cherished daughter-in-law of Frances Hettinga (and friend Dick VanderVeen) and the late Jerry Hettinga (1993). Sister-in-law of Eric Hettinga, late Minze Simon Hettinga (1981), late Audrey-Jo Hettinga (2003) and fiancé Jay Ostrom, and Jeff and Maria Hettinga (Iacobelli). The funeral service will be held at River City Vineyard, 260 Mitton Street North, Sarnia, on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Irwin Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, Friday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. and evening 7-9 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Terry Fox Foundation, or River City Vineyard Barbara Hettinga Memorial Fund.
