FONTAINE, Jean Aileen Jean Aileen Fontaine (nee: Nichols) passed away at the Good Shepherd Home on April 22, 2004 at the age of 79 years. She was born on Nov. 5, 1924 in Edmonton, Alberta to Harry and Luella Nichols of Donalda. She married George Fontaine of Rosalind on Nov. 29, 1943. They lived in the Rosalind area and George worked at the coal mines. Later they farmed, raised mink at Battle Lake and then moved north to homestead at Man ning, Alberta in 1954. In 1978 they moved to Wetaskiwin and built a new home. During their 59 years of marriage they cleared their homestead land and enjoyed gardening. In their spare time they shared in "fun things" like fishing, camping and boating. The Worship of their God Jehovah was very important to them and they had faith in His promise. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband George in 2002; her parents, Harry and Luella; sisters, Jennie and Marjorie, and brother Donald. Jean will always be remembered for her hospitality and her happy nature and "sparkling" blue eyes. She leaves to mourn her passing, brothers, Arnold (Rose) of Bawlf and Marvin of Hazelton, B.C.; sisters-in-law, Theresa Nichols and Marcella Johanson, both of Camrose; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The Nichols family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to all those who spent many loving hours caring for Jean. Special thanks to Dr. Haidar, the Wetaskiwin Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Director and wonderful staff of the Good Shepherd Home. Funeral services were held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, April 24 at 2 p.m. with Glenn Gibson officiating. Interment followed in the Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the Good Shepherd Home, 4702 Northmount Drive, Wetaskiwin, AB, T9A 3P6 or The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, Box 4100, Halton Hills (George Town), ON, L7G 4Y4 or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wetaskiwin Funeral Home and Crematorium (780) 352-5252. (WETASKIWIN TIMES ADVERTISER
