Emile LUCIER

EMILE LUCIER - Emile Lucier passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20th 2004, at the Herb Bassett Nursing Home at the age of 80. Emile - our companion, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather lived life to the fullest. Emile was born March 25th 1924, in D'Amour Saskatchewan, the eldest of seven children. He did many things in his life - worked at Thorpe Brothers as a roofer/foreman and ran a bush camp at Sticky Lake for eight years. He loved the outdoors from fishing, camping, and berry picking - he always ate more, than he picked. One of his loves in life was going to auctions; wherever there was an auction, that's where Emile could be found. Emile was a member of Metis Local #269. He would get involved with anything to do with the Metis Nation, especially 'The Batoche Days' which he rarely missed. He touched many different people in his life with his friendly manner and the way he would sing his little songs in French to the children. We will miss you my husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Emile is survived by his life-long companion, Helinka Katelnikoff; his step-children: Shirley Williams, Rick Williams, Alex Katelnikoff, and Lorri Katelnikoff; his grandchildren: Lisa (Frank) Schloegel, Douglas J. (Lynette) Fiddler, Michelle Fiddler, Savannah Fiddler, Rae Williams-Fiddler; his great-grandchildren: Austin, Caleb, Brandon, and Elizabeth; his one brother, Felix Lucier; his one sister, Evelyn Saam; and, his sister in-law, Helen Lucier. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan and Mary Lucier; his two sisters: Mary Peters and Roseanne St Germaine; his two brothers: Alex and Clement Lucier; his one brother in-law, John Saam; his sister in-law, Mabel Poulin. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 24th 2004, from River Park Memorial Chapel. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the Muskeg Lake Cemetery.
