Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) McGill University 1942, retired member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. Husband of Esther McDonell, father of Andrea Jill, Sharon Willa (Harald Debor) and Nancy Jayne (David Thomson). Grandfather of Andrew and Allison Dent and Christopher and Shelley Debor. Pensioner of I.C.I. Canada (formerly C.I.L.) and Domtar Limited. Life Member and Past Master of Lancaster Lodge No. 207 A.F & A.M., GRC.
