John Robert (Jack) Cooper DATELINE - KENTVILLE, John Robert (Jack) Cooper, 74, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Mills, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late James and Velma (Sealy) Cooper. He had been employed with Ultramar and retired with 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family, socializing, playing golf and curling. He was a member of the Ken-Wo Golf and Country Club and the Glooscap Curling Club. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Flo Gordon; a daughter, Joanne (Sandy) Van Blarcom, Kentville; a son, Michael (Marianne), Yorkton, Saskatchewan; two sisters, Judy (Bruce) McKeil, Tide Head, New Brunswick, Jean Dimock, Riverview, New Brunswick; two brothers, Glen (Noreen), Wheaton Settlement, New Brunswick; David (Donna), Oromocto, New Brunswick; three grandchildren, Brennen Cooper and Aaron and Ashley Van Blarcom; an aunt, Jean (John) Steeves and an uncle, Andy (Peggy) Sealy, both of Moncton, New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville and there will be no visitation by family request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Lung Association or the charity of your choice.
