LACEY, Roy Alvin - W.W. II Veteran; Original First Policemen of Barrie's own Force 1955 - 1985. First officer to found the “(School Safety Patrol) Elmer the Safety Elephant“ - Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Wednesday February 7, 2007. Roy Lacey in his 82nd year was the beloved husband of 62 years to the late Betsy Murray (Herd) Lacey. Dear father and sadly missed by his children Roger (Ann) Lacy of Collingwood; Randolph (Mona) Lacey of Angus; Susann (Laurence) Lyons of Barrie; Linda (Eugene) Harasawich of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Beloved uncle of Bill (Patricia) Murphy of Toronto. Also the many nephews and nieces of Smithville Ontario. Special thank you to the angels of mercy nursing staff of 4 South C and I.C.U. also Dr. Powell, Dr. Guesguis; Dr. Aust Garden. Bless you all.
