Edna CHRISTNER

WAMBOLD, Edna - Edna Wambold was a very active lady who passed away peacefully February 11, 2007 in her 96th year at Victoria Village in Barrie, Ontario. She was born in Kitchener, and was the daughter of the late David and Mary Christner. Predeceased by her husband Leonard; brothers Howard Christner and Lloyd Christner, and her sisters Helen Butt, Rita McCauley, and Ruth Kennedy. She was a great Mom to Doug Wambold (Jane) of Midhurst, and Ruth Barlow (Jim) of Kitchener. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Susan Barlow of Vancouver B.C., Mark Wambold of New Zealand, Brian Barlow (Deborah) of Toronto, and Lisa Wambold of Penticton, B.C. A move to Collingwood in 1952 greatly introduced new activities which gave her great joy. Her life involved family, baking, sewing, gardening (roses), bridge, golf, curling, hiking, wine making, and lastly knitting baby hats for the new born at the General and Marine Hospital in Collingwood when she became more confined to home especially in the winter months. Her determination to remain active even into the early 2000's was an inspiration to all of us.
