RACETTE, Kathleen "Kay" (Nee DeGenova) Peacefully but suddenly, Monday July 9, 2007 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital at the age of 78. Mom joins her life long love the late Raymond "Ray" Racette. Beloved mother of Louise Laverty (Mike), Ray Racette Jr. (Kathleen), Denyse Sencan (Gokan) and Lisa Rousseau (Andy). Cherished grandmother of Kaarina (Ryan), Sean, Jessica, Valerie, Claire, Andre and Cassandra. Great grandmother of Alex and Keira. Daughter of the late Vincent and Charlotte DeGenova. Dear sister of Lena Lipartiti (late Frank), Cecil Tomaso (late Patrick), Michael (Joan) and Donald (Leona). Predeceased by brothers Patrick, Anthony and John and sister Mary Burgess. She will be sadly missed by many special nieces, nephews and dear friends. After a brief illness Mom unfortunately could not keep up the courageous fight. Her strength was evident to the end and we will carry with us forever her unconditional love. Special thanks to all the "angels" at the Civic Hospital who over the past three months cared for our beautiful mother. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home 2313 Carling Avenue (west of Carlingwood) Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday to St. Basil's Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens.
