DAUPHINEE, Wilfred Tennyson With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father in his 97th year at Longfields Manor, in Nepean, Ontario, on 11 July 2007. The dear husband of Helen Louise (Coffin) for 70 years. The devoted father of Dr. Dale Dauphinee (Sharon Lee Wood) and Dr. Diana Dauphinee Shoup. The grandfather of Deborah, Margaret, Michael, Laura, Brent and Trevor, and great-grandfather of Diana, Mary, Brandon, Brian, Eli and Logan. Predeceased by brothers Grant and Carl, and sisters Gladys and Violet. Cherished by "adopted family members" Peter and Carol Milsom, son Peter and daughter Candice, and their families. The son of Alfred Tennyson and Florence (Ernst) Dauphinee, he was born in Shelburne, Nova Scotia on August 14th, 1910. Educated at Dalhousie and Acadia Universities, he was a leader in the granite business, a Minister of Trade and Industry, and Mines under Nova Scotian premiers Angus L. McDonald, Harold Connolly and Henry Hicks, and served on the Tariff Board of Canada in Ottawa. Retiring in Ottawa, his many years of volunteer work with addiction victims earned him citations, including from the Premier Davis. Funeral arrangements will be private.
