ESSER, John - Peacefully gone to be with the Lord, at Bluewater Health - Norman Street Site, on Thursday, May 31, 2007 John Albert Esser, age 73 of Sarnia. Beloved husband of Ann (Vroom) Esser. Loved father of George and Janet Esser, John and Carol Vriesinga, Bill and Cindy Esser, David and Sue Vriesinga, Robert and Deb Esser, Andrew Esser and Edia Baldassarre, John and Kathy Schrader, John Paul Esser, Teresa Esser, Linda Esser and the late Donald Esser (2004). Dear grandfather of 22 grandchildren. Brother of Kay Chivers, Lena and Jim Joosse, Alberta Vanderheide, Bill and Edie Esser, Jennie and Lex Kapteyn, Peter and Lynn Esser. Brother-in-law of William Kuindersma. Predeceased by his parents Isaac and Anne Vandyke,, sisters Ann Elgersma and Cotjie Kuindersma and brothers George and Albert Esser. John was very active in church work, especially with young people as a lay preacher and an elder. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 11:00 am at First Christian Reformed Church, corner of Murphy Road and Exmouth Street, Sarnia. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm and evening from 7 to 9 pm.
