BARRETT, Bob - Peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday afternoon, May 27th, 2007. Robert Thomas Barrett, of Owen Sound, passed away in his 71st year after a courageous battle with cancer. Dearly beloved husband of June Barrett (nee Bell). Loving father of Deborah Latham and her husband, Paul and Dr. Jeffrey Barrett and his wife, Janice, both of Owen Sound. Loving Papa of William & Julia Latham and Liam & Sam Barrett. Dear brother of Alf Barrett and his wife, Marion, of Owen Sound and Gloria Chittick and her husband, Dave, of Hanover. Dear uncle of Kevin, Heather, Brian, Steven and their families. Predeceased by his parents, George and Daisy Barrett. Bob retired from the Air Force in 1979 and from P.P.G. in 2002. Bob will always be remembered for his devotion towards his family and for his courage in the face of illness. He had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed being with others. His laugh will be dearly missed. Special thanks to Dr. Fred Veenstra and the many health care workers who provided exemplary care. Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Bob Barrett will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Sinclair officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation as your expression of sympathy.
