BETTS, George S. - A resident of Chatham and formerly of Thamesville passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, June 11, 2007 at the age of 65. He was born in Glencoe son of the late Stanley & Kathleen (McIntyre) Betts. He received his education in Glencoe, Ridgetown and the University of Western Ontario. He worked in Toronto until 1976, when he moved to Thamesville to be with his parents. In Thamesville he taught music, mathematics and physics. In 1993, after the death of his parents he moved to Chatham. Surviving are his brother & sister-in-law Barry & Fran (Bidner) Betts of Wallaceburg, cousin John & Sally McIntyre of Erieau and many other cousins. Predeceased by several aunts, uncles and cousins. The Betts family will receive friends at the JOHN C. BADDER FUNERAL HOME 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11:00 am. Interment in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to Mount Zion Presbyterian Church, Ridgetown or St. James Presbyterian Church, Thamesville.
