BRISBOIS (Bigford), Bernice - We lost our hero today! It is with great sadness that the ten children of Bernice will be carrying on their lives without their greatest asset. On June, 6, 2007 at the age of 78. Bernice began a new journey with her soul mate Ken. He has been waiting for her. Bernice leaves behind her five sons that cherished the ground she walked on. Ken II (Lorraine), Brian (Cathy), Martin (Kathy), Leo (Marjorie) and Paul Howard. Her five daughters will continue to have tea parties in moms' honor. Maggie Vidal, Susan Mary, Lois, Sharon Lewis (Tom) and Maureen Cooke (Dave). Her eleven grandchildren were her pride and joy. Their lives are so much richer for knowing their cool Nana. Jodi, Tara, Ken III, Jesse, Noel, Natalee, Kathleen, Devon, Rebecca, Saliena and Lauren. Her two great grandchildren McKenna and Isabelle. Bernice was a member of the UAW/CAW Women's Auxiliary Branch 50 for over 40 years. She served as past president and secretary. She was an amazing bowler and she made the best apple pie in the world. Her home was always filled with her grandchildren's favorite candies and bananas were always available for anyone having a bad day. Our mother made Christmas special every year. Entering the family home Christmas Day with the smell of turkey, presents under the tree and mom dressed in an apron wearing a smile will be etched in our minds forever. Thank you mom. Bernice loved life. Her positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor inspired her children and everyone who knew her. Kindness describes the way she lived her life everyday. We will always be proud to have called her our mother. Move over mother Teresa, another saint has arrived. Visitation will be at the DOWNTOWN CHAPEL of the BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Duke St. at James (behind the Courthouse) on Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel.
