MARTYNIUK, Douglas George - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Doug in his 78th year, on June 11, 2007 at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga. Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret Porteous, his brother Bill Smith (Unity Sask.), nephews Donald Hagan (Regina, Sask.), Jim Hagan (Thompson, Man.) and Murray Porteous (Toronto). He is survived by his sister Ellen Hagan of Mississauga, sisters in law Margaret Smith of Unity, Alice Porteous of Toronto, Evelyn Porteous of North Bay, 6 nieces, 2 nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Doug had an illustrious career in the 12 volt industry spanning more than 40 years. He and his wife Margaret established a large farm near Maxwell, Ontario raising registered Hereford cattle. Doug will be remembered for his love, generosity and warmth by his neighbours and friends. We will all miss him dearly. Special thanks to those who provided care; Dr. John Gapski and all staff at the Oncology unit at the Trillium Health Centre and to the nurses at the 4B Nursing Centre for the care given the last week of Doug's life. God bless you all. The family will receive friends at the Turner and Porter “Peel Chapel“, 2180 Hurontario St.(Hwy 10 north of QEW), on Wednesday, June 13 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Visitation continues at the FAWCETT FUNERAL HOME, Flesherton on Thursday, June 14 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 am. Interment Maxwell Cemetery.
