The family of Lew Barber, Naples, Florida (formerly of Lewiston, New York) are deeply saddened to announce his passing on June 13, 2007. Lew loved life and lived it fully. He is the son of the late Verne and Renee Barber. He will be missed greatly by his wife of 26 years and best friend, Heather, and by his children Dawn Zarambo and her husband Larry of Tonawanda, New York, Dana of Dallas, Texas, Darrin of Rochester, New York, Sheila Mauer and her husband Keith of New Castle, Colorado, Felicia Darlak and her husband Chris of Lockport, New York, Lewis Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Melanie Fike and her husband Jay of Naples, Florida. He is also survived by his sister Virginia Ingrahm and her husband Al of Mesa, Arizona. Grampy will be remembered lovingly by his six grandchildren Larry Jr., Lindsay, Rebecca, Brielle, Ruby and Ethan with two more grandsons on the way. Lew was a highly respected State Farm Insurance agent in Niagara Falls for 36 years. He loved travel and experienced much of the world - initially as a member of the US Navy, and later as a paying world traveler /tourist. Lew was a health enthusiast, bar none, and readily shared his passion and knowledge of natural health and fitness with anyone who needed his help. He loved to swim, SCUBA, fly planes, navigate boats, hike, cycle, and jog. His knowledge of nutrition and excellent conditioning helped Lew enjoy an excellent quality of life during his 9 year battle with Leukemia. We will greatly miss this gentle man's wit, wisdom, and generous friendship. He made an impact and an imprint on the hearts of those who loved him. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Rhoney Funeral Home, Cayuga Street, Lewiston. Visitation will be Monday, June 18th from 5 - 9 pm. To commemorate his life, services will be held at The First Presbyterian Church, Cayuga Street, Lewiston, on Tuesday, June 19th at 11 a.m. Peace be with you, dear Lew, and with your spirit. 10701835
