WASSEGIJIG, Augustin (Gishte) - In loving memory of Augustin (Gishte) Wassegijig, 83 years, who passed away Tuesday morning, July 17th, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Memorial Site. He was born and raised in Wikwemikong. He worked for many years as a logger for E.B. Eddy Forest Industries. He was a helpful neighbour and a friend to many. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, working around the house, and bingo. Beloved husband of the late Sarah (Mishibinijima) Wassegijig (predeceased August 2nd, 2001). Loving father of Alvin Wassegijig, Wikwemikong, Bernice Osawabine, Sudbury, Priscilla Wassegijig, Winnie Wassegijig, Bernard Wassegijig and Rosemary (friend James Peltier) all of Wikwemikong, Eleanor Debassige, M'Chigeeng. Dear grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Predeceased by 1 grandson Joey and son-in-law Timothy Debassige. Beloved son of the late David and Theresa (Shawana) Wassegijig (both predeceased). Predeceased by one sister Harriet Wassegijig. Cousin of Josephine Gabow, David Wakegijig, Victoria Simon, Delia Peltier, Margaret Shigwadja, Theodore Bondy, all of Wikwemikong and Rita Bondy of Hamilton. Predeceased by cousins David Bondy, Jerry Bondy and David Pitawanakwat. Survived by many relatives and friends. Resting at his residence 49 Pontiac Avenue, Wikwemikong. Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Mission Friday, July 20th, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment in Wikwemikong Cemetery. (Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday).
