SMITH, Dale Jean - Dale Smith, loving wife of Steven Guy Smith of Lafontaine and formerly of Owen Sound, passed away peacefully at the Huronia District Hospital in Midland on Sunday July 15, 2007 at the age of 52. Dale was born in North Bay, a daughter of David Beatty Glover and the late Mildred “Millie” (née Grantham) Glover who predeceased her in 1993. She will be sorely missed and ever remembered by her Dad, David, who remains a resident of Meaford. Moving with her family, Dale attended school in Sturgeon Falls and later in Meaford where she graduated from Georgian Bay Secondary School where she excelled in her studies and love of music. She was an avid reader and was a very talented and creative individual who enjoyed sewing, macramé, needlepoint, knitting and crocheting as well as expressing herself with her charcoal sketches and water colours. After graduation she attended the University of Guelph where she earned a degree in Horticulture. After working in that field for some time, she began work in an office, eventually obtaining employment with Black-Clawson Kennedy Ltd. in Owen Sound. She and Steve, whom she met while working there, were married in 1983 at the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Owen Sound which she attended while working in Owen Sound and where they lived for a number of years and where their children were born. Moving to their home in Penetanguishene in 1992 and later to Lafontaine, Dale devoted her time as a mother raising their boys in the country where she spent hours in her gardening pursuits. Dale was the much loved mother of her sons Eric and Craig and she will be remembered as a dear sister by Kurt and his wife Michelle of Penetanguishene and as a very special aunt by their children Evan and Morgan. Dale was also predeceased by a brother, David, in 1975. She was a sister- in-law to Shawn of Owen Sound, Pamela Smith, also of Owen Sound and Penny and her husband Dick Love of Sarnia. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Glenn Sellick of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, were conducted at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME in Meaford on Thursday July 19, 2007 with committal services and interment following at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford. 10751984
