MAXWELL, Julia Mae (nee Brown) - Julia passed away very suddenly on Friday, July 20, 2007 after a courageous and tenacious battle with brain cancer. She had gathered through the years a host of wonderful friends who supported her beautifully through the journey. Julia's family will always have a warm place in their hearts for the care and spiritual support she was offered along the way. Julia is survived by her husband, Rev. Rick Maxwell, son Cameron and daughter-in-law Ange of Brantford, brother Rob Brown and his partner Judy of Mississauga. Julia was also special sister-in-law to Ian and Kathy of Newmarket, and an affirming aunt to Grayson, Spencer, and Candace. Julia was predeceased by her parents Chester and Jean Brown and an infant child. Having grown up in Petrolia and Sarnia, she began her working career in Hamilton. Upon her marriage to Rick, they served pastorates in Kitchener, Owen Sound, Hamilton, and Toronto. A very musical person, Julia found herself involved in many choirs in addition to the churches of which she was a part. Always having had a keen interest in children's Christian education, she affected and loved many along the way. With a deep Christian commitment, Julia took her Faith into the many facets of her work. Until the time of her illness, Julia was the office manager of Christian Counselling Services of Toronto. Julia's family would like to offer a genuine “thank you“ to the host of wonderful people at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, and the Henderson Hospital who so very capably and kindly looked after her through the illness. The Church of which Julia was a part, MacNeill Baptist Church of Hamilton, and a host of superb neighbours and friends gave enduring support and love in what was a very difficult odyssey. Cremation has taken place. A service of worship to celebrate Julia's life will take place at MACNEILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 1145 King Street West, Hamilton, on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Refreshments will follow. Julia's family will be at the church on Friday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 1:30 p.m. for visitation. As an expression of sympathy it would have been Julia's choice to support MacNeill Baptist Church, 1145 King Street West, Hamilton, ON L8S 1L9, or Christian Counselling Services, 1009-2 Carlton Street, Toronto, ON M5B 1J3. Julia's family has been blessed with the indelible gifts of her grace, her fun, and her Faith. (www.catteleatonandchambers.ca) 10757008
