CARMICHAEL, David Robert - Born June 5, 1950 in North Bay, Dave passed away Monday morning, March 19, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his father Robert Arthur Carmichael, infant brother Gregory and nephew Marcel. Sadly missed by his mother Gertrude (Maxwell) and by his wife Pauline and daughters Kimberley (Dan) of Chisholm Township and Jennifer of Calvin Township. Survived by his brothers Marty (Muriel) of Bonfield, ON, Jim (Mary Ann) of Platsville, ON, Mel (Pam) of Comox, B.C., Neil (Val) of Lethbridge, Alberta and sister Beverly-Lynn (Mike) of North Bay. He also had six nephews and three nieces. Dave was born and raised in North Bay (Carmichael Corners). He was a graduate of the first 2nd Year Agriculture Course at the New Liskeard Agricultural College. He worked for the Quilchena Cattle Company near Merrit, B.C. where he met his wife Pauline. They moved back to the North Bay area and bought a farm in Calvin Township in 1974. He raised Beef cattle and worked for the lumber industry for 31 years. He was also a member of Calvin Township Council since 1983, 20 years of that as mayor. Dave has gone on his final fishing trip, sadly leaving behind the Jocko Crew. He will surely catch a big trout. Donations can be made to the North Bay General Hospital; Mattawa Hospital; North Eastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre; and the VON who have helped so much during such hard times. Friends and relatives may call at the T.L.SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Mattawa on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Celebration of life will take place at Calvin Community Hall on Friday at 11 a.m.
