McMANUS, Gertrude A. (1914 - 2007) Peacefully at Forest Hill Nursing Residence, Kanata on Thursday morning, July 19th, 2007. Beloved wife of the late J. Earl McManus. Mother of Robert (June) of Kanata. Grandmother of Jocelyn Zelonis (Rob) of Kanata and Paul (Melissa) of Barrie. Great-grandmother of Paisley. Also survived by family members: Mary (Mrs. Rod Moran), Carine (Mrs. C. Carras), Beverly Kobus, Austin Kobus (Dorcas) and William Kobus (Willus). Predeceased by brothers: Harold, Leonard (Ethel), Kenneth (Inez) and sisters: Evelyn (Mrs. George Carrigan) and Genevieve (Mrs. Alan Ramsden). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Gertrude lived a long and productive life as a daughter, sister, student, friend, businesswoman, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, community volunteer and senior citizen. Member of the first graduating class of St. Joseph's Academy (now High School) in Renfrew. Gertrude was a lifelong devout Roman Catholic who took great comfort from her faith and her family. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior at a later date. Donations in Gertrude's memory may be made to the Arnprior Humane Society where she was a founding member and long-time supporter. Special thanks to the staff at Forest Hill who for the past few years have made a special warm home for Gertrude.
