Sister Mary Moran (Sister Mary Rose) Sister Mary Moran (Sister Mary Rose), A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, Ontario, died in the Pembroke Regional Hospital on the 22nd day of July, 2007 in the 72nd year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, her cousins Cecelia Dineen, Gary Dineen (Annemieke) and Family. Predeceased by her parents, John Patrick Moran and Hannah Murphy, and her brother, John. Sister Mary was born on November 15th, 1919 in Craighurst, Ontario. She entered the Grey Sisters Community on August 31st, 1935, pronouncing her final vows on July 31st, 1941. Her ministry involved teaching, beginning in Midland, serving as principal and classroom teacher for four years. She moved on to teach in various areas including Timmins, Whitby, Windsor and the Chinese Catholic Centre, Vancouver. Sister Mary worked for a number of years as teaching principal, music teacher and coordinator of elementary schools. Retiring in 1982, she moved to Parish Ministry, serving at Assumption Parish, Windsor, and for eleven years at Holy Name Parish, Pembroke. Her final years were spent at Shalom Residence, Pembroke. Resting at the Marguerite Centre, 700 Mackay Street, Pembroke, Ontario on Tuesday July 24th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Special Vespers in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Resurrection in the Marguerite Centre Chapel on Wednesday July 25th at 10:30 a.m. Interment, St. Columba's Cemetery, Pembroke.
