Allan James KINGAN

KINGAN, Allan James 73, died peacefully on Saturday, July 28th, 2007 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at approximately 1:15 p.m. He was the husband of Elsie Elizabeth Kingan. Allan was the son of John Julian Kingan and Margaret MacDonald. Allan was proud to be born in Cape Breton on September 13th, 1933. Allan was an inspiration and a mentor to all who new him. He enjoyed his many friendships over the years and was a loving father to his family. In addition to his wife, Allan is survived by his three children - Carol Anne Horvat, John and Stephen Kingan. His 6 loving grandchildren are Jake and Dillan Horvat, Allan and Christine Kingan, Cody and Nicholas Kingan. Allan had a large family of 5 sisters - Angie, Maureen, Rita, Florence and Jody. He started his university education at St. Xavier in Nova Scotia and finished at McGill University in Montreal. He graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree. While working full time, he continued his studies and received an additional Diploma in Management from McGill in 1968. Mr. Allan Kingan was a loyal employee of Bell Canada Enterprises over the course of his life working in a number of different capacities that he found very rewarding. After his retirement, Allan worked as a consultant for PWGSC with the Government of Canada in the telecommunications division. Allan was loved and admired by all who new him and he will be sadly missed. The kindness and support from all friends and family has been greatly appreciated. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1st, 2007 at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Homes, 415 Regent Street, Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, 905-468-3255. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 at 11:00 o'clock at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 73 Picton, Niagara on the Lake, 905-468-7272.
