Alice Mae Cameron April 20, 1927 - July 31, 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Alice Cameron of Peguis First Nation on July 31, 2007 at the age of 80 years. Left to cherish her memory, children Delmar (Colleen), Val (Bruce) Sinclair, Geraldine (Steve) Heinrichs, Clarence (Susie), Kathy (Leon); special grandchildren, Jamie and Courtney who were raised by Alice; daughters-in-law Deanna Cameron and Sandra McPherson; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Mulvena Thomas; in-laws, Percy and Merdina Cameron, Glen Cameron, Audrey Bedard, Phyllis Olson, John and Sharon Cameron, Ken Cameron, Josie Cameron, Dennis Cameron, Joy Sutherland; special niece Jean Mason; special family friend Sister Agnes who was always there for our Mom, other numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alice was predeceased by her husband Rod; parents, Tom and Harriet Favell; sons, Norman and Earl; daughters, Lorraine and Darlene; grandsons, Freddie and Steven; granddaughter, Sara; great-grandson, Jerome; brothers, Alfred, Joe, Walter, Donald, John, Norman, and Clifford; sisters, Dorothy, Sarah, Florence, Maggie, Mable, Ann and Flora; parents-in-law, Edward and Lucy Cameron, in-laws, Oswald and Mildred Cameron, Lloyd and Clemen Cameron, Walter Cameron, Henry Bedard, Lillian Cameron, Hazel and Donald Harper. Mom was born April 20, 1927 and was raised in Birch Point, Manitoba. She met her husband, Rod, at Birch Point. They traveled by dog team to Berens River and were married on April 4, 1945. They renewed their wedding vows in October 1998. Together they raised their children and grandchildren in Peguis. Mom was a very kind, gentle and caring person. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved planting and could make anything grow. She was a very spiritual person. Mom loved to joke and tease. She enjoyed dabbing at bingo and packing at the slots. Mom worked for many years as a Health Care Aide at the old Peguis Senior Centre and in her younger years as a Cook at Birch Point mill. Mom will be greatly missed by her family. Special Thank You to Doctor. Harris, at Grace Hospital, Doctor. Laylek at Cancer Care, Doctor. Wake service will be held at the family residence in Hodgson, Manitoba, on Friday, August 3rd, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 4th, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch. Father Dominique Kerbrat, OMI officiating and Sister Agnes will perform the interment. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Palliative Care Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, Manitoba.
