Norman L. Kierstead Norman Leonard Kierstead, 75, of Moncton, passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, August 2, 2007. Born in Memramcook, he was the son of the late Arthur and Myrtle (Buck) Kierstead. Norman worked for T.A. Hill Sheet Metal for twenty years before becoming a Driveshaft Specialist with Auto Service Drive Line, retiring in 1997. After retirement he spent many happy hours driving shuttle cars for Avis and Hertz. In his younger years, Norman's passion was car racing. He spent many tireless hours both driving and repairing drag cars and stock cars. He was a former member of the National Hot Rod Association and earned the name "Stormin Norman". He never forgot his driving and loved to be asked about his speed. He will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty years, Ruth (Brannon); daughters, Irene Dawn LeBlanc (Robert), Porters Lake, N.S., Marlene Beth MacKay (Corey Eagles), Pine Glen, N.B.; five grandchildren, Natalie and Mathieu LeBlanc, Devin, Dylan, and Alex MacKay. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Lewis, Robert, and Ronald; sister, Audrey; and infant son, Daniel (1960). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, (858-1995), Sunday, August 5, 2007 from 2 to 5. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, August 6, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Jim Eagles officiating. Reception following the service. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton. The family has requested flowers from the family only.
