HORNER, Betty, E. (nee McLean) - In loving memory of Betty Horner, 79 years of Naughton, who passed away peacefully after a Valiant fight at the Sudbury Regional Hospital St. Joseph's Health Center, Saturday, August 11, 2007, was born in Oshawa and married Keith Horner in Oshawa in 1946. Betty moved to the Sudbury area in 1946 from Oshawa. A woman of faith she had attended Glad Tidings Tabernacle. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. A avid gardener her efforts produced beautiful flowers and bountiful harvests which she made into preserves. She will be remembered as an excellent cook who was happiest when in the company of her loving family. Beloved wife of Keith Horner of Naughton for 61 years. Loving and devoted mother of Brian (Mary) of Naughton, Fay Noble (Bob) of Copper Cliff, Bonnie Love (Harold) of Sudbury, Karen Carpenter (Jim) of Brantford, Barry (June) of Sudbury and Brent (Karen) of Essex. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Joyce Bradley (Len predeceased) of Port Hope, Joan Shearer (Bob) of Pontypool, Bert (Rita) of Flinton and Peter (Donna) of Oshawa. Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Vera McLean and brother Lewis (Margaret of Toronto). The family sincerely thanks the excellent staff in the ICU and SCU at the General, in particular Dr. Manchuk, and fabulous nurses Tammy, Cory and Leslie. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 at 11:30 AM. Cremation with interment in the Waters Cemetery.
