VIDLER, Ruth Eleanor (Dunlop) - passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday August 15, 2007. Born to her late parents Cyril and Sarah (Mills) Dunlop 82 years ago, Ruth and her husband John (2001) made their home in Erieau where they raised their children Gayle Goulet who now resides in Toronto, Suzanne & Dave Robert of Erieau and Jeff & Joyce Vidler also of Erieau. Ruth and John's daughter Judith Lynn Vidler predeceased them in 1977. Ruth enjoyed many things in life; she loved to cook, she enjoyed the companionship of her feline friend Callie, she crocheted afghans for her children, for the church and for friends in nursing homes, she made each of her children hand stitched quilts and she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. The greatest pride and joy in life however, was her grandchildren Krysta & Allan Taylor of Toronto, Gregory & Christina Goulet of Markham and Julie Robert of Ann Arbor Michigan as well as her great grandchildren David, Lauren & Kate Taylor of Toronto. Ruth was anxiously awaiting the addition of her fourth great grandchild in October this year. Ruth is survived by her sister Mildred Simon of Sudbury, her brother Cecil & Eileen Dunlop of Chatham, by her brothers in law and sisters in law George & Jeanette Vidler, Molly Vidler and Hartley Vidler of Erieau and Mary Remington of Chatham as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Harold as well as her brothers in law O.J. Vidler and Gordon Remington and her sister in law Mary Lou Vidler. Family and friends will be received at the BLENHEIM COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Ruth's funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday August 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Fuller of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Erieau officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Friends wishing to honour Ruth's life with a charitable donation by cash or cheque are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
